dc.description.abstract	การวิจัยครั้งนี้เป็นงานวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาและรวบรวมองค์ความรู้ทางภูมิปัญญาเครื่องทองโบราณของช่างทองพานทอง จังหวัดชลบุรี ครอบคลุมด้านความเป็นมา สภาพภูมิสังคมวัฒนธรรมและบริบทของช่างทองโบราณเมืองพานทองภูมิปัญญาด้านกระบวนการ ทําเครื่องทองแบบดั้งเดิมการถ่ายทอดความรู้เชิงช่างและการสืบทอดงานทําทองตลอดจนแนว ทางการอนุรักษ์และส่งเสริมงานทองโบราณพานทอง ผลการศึกษาพบว่า ช่างทองโบราณเมืองพานทองเป็นกลุ่มช่างฝีมือผู้มีทักษะและภูมิปัญญาในการผลิตทองรูปพรรณสืบทอดมาต่อเนื่องยาวนานกว่า 100 ปี สภาพภูมิสังคม วัฒนธรรมของเมืองพานทองชี้ให้เห็นว่าในอดีตนั้นเคยเป็นเมืองท่าและตลาดกลางซื้อขาย แลกเปลี่ยนที่สําคัญแห่งหนึ่งของจังหวัดชลบุรี เดิมมีชื่อว่า ท่าตะกูด ณ ที่แห่งนี้เองเป็นจุดเริ่มต้นของการประกอบอาชีพช่างทอง ซึ่งในสังคมและวัฒนธรรมไทยถือว่าทองเป็นสิ่งสูงค่าและมี ความหมายเป็นสิริมงคล ช่างทองโบราณเมืองพานทองยังคงรักษากระบวนการทําเครื่องทองแบบดั้งเดิมไว้อย่างมั่นคง เช่น คุณภาพทอง กรรมวิธี รูปแบบและลวดลาย ทั้งลวดลายดั้งเดิม ลวดลายโบราณพื้นฐานและลวดลายพื้นถิ่น รวมถึงการออกแบบประยุกต์งานให้ได้รับความนิยมอยู่เสมอ ตลอดจนการถ่ายทอดความรู้เชิงช่าง เหล่านี้นับเป็นภูมิปัญญาหรือความรู้ที่ฝังลึกอยู่ในตัวคน ซึ่งควรค่าแก่การรักษาไว้ให้ดํารงคงอยู่โดยใช้แนวทางการจัดการมรดกทางวัฒนธรรมอย่างมีคุณภาพของกรมศิลปากรในการอนุรักษ์ สืบสาน และส่งเสริมภูมิปัญญาเครื่องทองโบราณของช่างทอง พานทอง จังหวัดชลบุรี

dc.description.abstractalternative	This purpose of the qualitative research was to studyand gather the cultural significant indigenous knowledge of Panthong’s goldsmith, Chonburi Province. Covering thehistorical geography and social value, context of goldsmith, traditional gold making process, and transmittal and inheritance artisan skills, as well as the conservation and promotion of ancient gold. The study indicated that Panthong’sgoldsmith are craftsmen who have skills and wisdom on gold jewelry for more than 100 years. The historical geography of Panthong pointed out that it had been a major trading port and central market in the past, one of Chonburi Province, originally named Tha Ta Kud. The Panthong goldsmith’s occupation was beginning at this place. Gold in Thai culture is valuable and meaningful prosperity. Moreover, the traditional gold jewellery making process is still maintaining stable process, such as gold quality, production method, style and design including the traditional pattern, ancient motifs basis, indigenous motifs and alsoapplied design. The goldsmith’s craft passed on within the family and sometimes to outsiders who adore the goldsmith’s art. These were an intellectual heritage and tacit knowledge which deserved to be preserved for existence. The Heritage Quality concept from the Fine Arts Department was necessary to manage these intellectual for preservation, protection, promotion, enhancement, transmittal, as well as the revitalization of the various aspects of such heritage.
