การศึกษาครั้งนี้ได้ทำการสำรวจและเก็บตัวอย่างฟองน้ำจากถิ่นอาศัยต่าง ๆ ตามชายฝั่งทะเลในจังหวัดจันทบุรีถึงจังหวัดตราด ระหว่างเดือนกุมภาพันธ์ ถึงเดือนพฤษภาคม 2549 รวมทั้งสิ้น 18 จุดสำรวจ การสำรวจใช้วิธีดำน้ำแบบผิวน้ำและเครื่องช่วยหายใจใต้น้ำในเวลากลางวัน พบฟองน้ำทั้งสิ้น 72 ชนิด จาก 11 อันดับ 37 วงศ์ และ 50 สกุล ในจำนวนนี้พบฟองน้ำที่พบครั้งแรกในน่านน้ำไทย จำนวน 3 ชนิด ได้แก่ Placospongia melobesioides, Eurypon sp. "black" และ Rhabdermia sp. "brown" ฟองน้ำที่พบส่วนมากเป็นฟองน้ำที่พบมีการแพร่กระจายอยู่ทั่วไปในอ่าวไทยและทะเลจีนใต้ |

Biodiversity of sponges (Demospongiae, Porifera) for this study had been investigated from various habitats throughout Chanthaburi and Trad province from February to May 2006. Collections for thispurpose were conducted from 18 collections sites. Most of the collections were carried out by hand wading and SCUBA diving during daytime and the observations were randomly collected throughout all collection sites. The results show that there were 72 species of demosponges from 11 orders, 37 families and 52 genera. Out of these, three species were the new records in Thai waters, namely Placospongia melobesioides, Eurypon sp. "black" and Rhabdermia sp. "brown". Moreover, most species were found commonly in the Gulf of Thailand and the South China Sea. |
