จากการศึกษาความหลากหลายของหอยทะเล บริเวณหาดนางรอง เกาะจระเข้ และกลุ่มเกาะจวง จังหวัดชลบุรี พบ 39 วงศ์ 53 สกุล 95 ชนิด เมื่อทำการเปรียบเทียบชนิดหอยทะเลที่พบในแต่ละพื้นที่ พบว่า บริเวณที่มีความหลากหลายสูงสุดคือ เกาะจาน มีจำนวน 113 ชนิด รองลงมาคือเกาะจระเข้ และเกาะจวง มีจำนวน 105 และ 93 ชนิดตามลำดับ บริเวณที่มีชนิดหอยทะเลทะเลน้อย คือเกาะโรงโขน-โรงหนัง พบเพีบง 38 ชนิด พบหอยทะเลที่ยังไม่มีรายงานว่าพบในพื้นที่หมู่เกาะแสมสารและอำเภอสัตหีบอีก 36 ชนิด นอกจากนี้ยังพบหอยทะเลที่ ยังไม่มีรายงานในประเทศไทย 7 ชนิด โดยเป็นหอยฝาคู่ ได้แก่ Caecella sp., Tellina carnicolor Hanley, 1844 Antigona persimilis (lredale, 1930), ruditapes philippinarum (A.Adams & Reeve, 1850) หอยฝาเดี่ยว ได้แก่ Vanikoro plicata (Recluz, 1844) และทากทะเล ได้แก่ Discodoris boholiensis Bergh, 1877, Gymnodoris rubropapulosa (Bergh, 1905) ทั้งนี้ตัวอย่างทั้งหมดได้ถูกจัดเก็บไว้ในระบบพิพิธภัณฑ์อ้างอิงของสถาบันวิทยาศาสตร์ทางทะเล มหาวิทยาลัยบูรพา มหาวิทยาลัยบูรพา และคณะประมงมหาวิทยาลัยเกษตรศาสตร์ |

The study of marine biodiversity along Nang-rong Beach, Jorake lsland and Juang lsland and Juang lslands, Amphur Sattahip, Chonburi Province found marine mollusks 199 species which are in Class Bivalvia 29 families 64 genera 104 species, Class Gastropoda 39 families 53 genera 95 species. The most diversity of marine molluscs in the study area is at Jan lsland which has 113 species then are Jorake lsland 105 species and Juang lslang 93 species respectively. The fewest diversity of molluscs aea is at RongKhon-rongnung lsland about 38 species. There are 36 species that have never been reported in Samaesarn lslands and Amphur Sattahip. However, 7 species are the new record of Thailand which are Caecella sp., Tellina carnicolor Hanley, 1844, Antigona persimilis (lredale, 1930), Ruditapes philippinarum (A.Adams & Reeve, 1850) in Bivalvia, Vanikoro plicata (Recluz, 1844), Discodoris boholiensis Bergh, 1877 and Gymnodoris rubropapulosa (Bergh, 1905) in Gastropoda.
